Sarah Dufresne brings a strong affinity for introspection, attunement, and empowerment to her work with patients. Sarah listens deeply to her patients, helping them feel safe, seen, and heard. She invites her patients into conversation and advocates for their health.

Sarah’s current focus is on men’s & women’s health at every age, fertility, and ART (Assisted Fertility Technology), pregnancy, labor prep, postpartum care, and pediatrics. Sarah also treats pain, orthopedic and sports medicine, neurological & mental health challenges, chemotherapy support, GI issues, and life transitions.

Born & raised in Massachusetts, Sarah attributes her roots to her sassy personality and contemplative nature. Sarah dove headfirst into nutrition & dietetic studies at the University of Connecticut to learn how best to use food as medicine. Following her undergraduate degree, Sarah was determined to connect more of the body & mind to find balance. Sarah attended an intensive Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training as well as pursued Ayurvedic Foundational studies. Gaining these insights and tools along the way it provided a solid foundation to further her studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Sarah completed her Master’s in Acupuncture from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, studying both Chinese & Japanese traditions. Advanced studies were in both men’s & women’s health disharmonies, Korean hand therapy, cancer pathology, and hospice care.

Sarah enjoys helping her patients put the pieces together to better understand their health and find their balance using all the modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine, nutrition, movement, meditation, Ayurveda, and Energy Medicine.

In addition to being an acupuncturist, Sarah is a writer & a budding artist in Charleston. She writes on the good days and the tough ones. She writes & paints as a means to unravel an expression of joy and wisdom that is eager for the page. Sarah says, “If I stay really still, I can catch the words as they move through me. I try to write down what exists in the ethers around me. To capture a moment, a feeling, a pulse with words, feels like an honor and a gift to those that may come upon it.”
